    The ability to manage a classroom is one of the most crucial skills any educator can cultivate. The Classroom Management Secrets course is designed to develop these skills through practical advice and step-by-step instructions. Educators will learn to create a classroom management plan that motivates students to practice proper behavior in the classroom, as well as handle difficult students, fuel intrinsic motivation, teach routines, and be a calmer, more effective teacher.

    Technology and content area curriculum should be partnered in such a way to enhance not just learning for the students, but also increase enthusiasm for the teachers.     This course will focus on the belief that all classrooms are heterogeneous on many levels, as are the students in them. This course will assist teachers seeking to create learning environments that address the variability that is typical of academically diverse classrooms. The course aims to help teachers determine what differentiated instruction is, why it is essential for all learners, how to begin to plan for it, and how to become comfortable enough with student differences to make school comfortable for each student.

    As an educator, you work to make sure your students are in a physically safe classroom environment, but what about socially and emotionally? It is extremely important for students to feel valued, that their social identity and cultures are accepted, and that they are welcomed members of the classroom. Our Creating Safe Classroom Environments course helps educators gain the knowledge for building positive, trustworthy, and challenging curriculum and environments that allow students to flourish. These practices help to empower students to take charge of their own learning and goals.

    Over the last three decades, school shootings have become increasing more frequent. Why is this happening? Our Bullying in Schools course discusses the connections between school shootings, bullying, and gender and social demands placed on children in our schools. Bullying has reached disturbing levels across the country and no one is immune. We’ll discuss aspects of masculinity, social status, violence against girls, cyber-bullying, gay bashing, and adult bullying. This course introduces you to the effects bullying has on our communities and techniques for creating a caring learning environment for our children.

    Everyone who reads written language employs reading strategies. When teaching students to read, you are showing learners the kinds of reading decisions that proficient readers make rapidly and automatically to understand the text. When readers use these strategies often enough in a conscious and deliberate way, at some point, the practices become unconscious skills that they apply automatically whenever they read. This course focuses on practical "how-to" instructions to practice while helping students gain a greater understanding of what they are reading. Our Teaching the Struggling Reader course provides strategies for teachers and parents to use to help give their young readers the confidence they need to gain a love of reading!

    This course is intended to teach educators or business professionals how to use the SMART Board interactive whiteboard. SMART Board is designed to engage students and deliver unique presentations. Our course will allow participants will explore SMART Board software and learn how to create interactive lessons or presentations for the classroom and business world.

    To meet the needs of every gifted student, differentiating curriculum is not an option, it’s a necessity! Our Teaching Gifted Learners course demystifies challenges that teachers may face when creating curriculum for the gifted learner. By taking this course, you’ll be able to identify gifted students and recognize how to implement research-supported strategies in the classroom. We will target the three components of differentiation – context, process, and product. Not all gifted students are alike – that’s why differentiating curriculum is so important.

    Bullying has become a growing issue in schools and children's lives. Educators must play a part in the prevention and identification of bullying and harassment in their classroom and school. In this course, we will discuss how to prevent, identify, and discipline harassment and bullying in the classroom and learning environment.

    Nutrition and wellness are a vital part of a healthy and happy child. As an educator it is important to promote and understand children’s nutrition and wellness in their educational environment. This course will provide an introduction into the nutritional needs of children as well as preventing and managing illness. Learning these skills will better prepare you to provide a healthy environment for children.

    Educators play a role in the prevention of child abuse and neglect by identifying signs and providing a safe environment for students. In this course, we will discuss what the role educators play in child safety and explore physically safe environments for their students.

    Children's emotional health and safety can impact their learning experience and effect an educators classroom management. In this course, we will discuss children's emotional health and safety in the classroom as well as effective learning experiences to provide educators an understanding of safe practices in their classroom.
